A close vote recanvass was held November 6 for the contest of Board of Selectmen. The recanvass resulted in a one vote difference for five of the candidates. Chafetz’s 1816 vote count changed to 1815, Hill’s changed from 1847 to 1848, Warren’s changed from 1799 to 1800, Harrington’s 2342 changed to 2343, Mahoney’s changed from 2171 to 2172 and Hespelt’s 2170 did not change. The changes did not affect the outcome of the election.

Out of 9890 eligible voters 4,091 voted, 41 percent. Out of the 4,091 ballots 509 were absentee ballots, 13 were Election Day registration ballots and 3,569 were polling place ballots.
