The Suffield Arts Council will feature a show of work, by members of the Manchester Art Association, in the Pinney Gallery of the Kent Memorial Library during the month of May.

The group, founded in the 1950s, is comprised of more than 90 members from communities in the East Central CT region. Meetings are held at the Manchester Church of Christ, on the third Thursday of the month, and are open to the public. Members work in a variety of media, several of which will be shown here in a show entitled “Hope Springs Eternal”.

Active in the area, the group holds an annual show in the South Windsor Library. The Manchester Town Hall has a display of members’ work which is rotated every three months. They award scholarships, offer workshops, and support the Food Pantry, among other charities.

Viewers will find 30 to 50 paintings here, in a show dedicated to the people of Ukraine. It is intended to raise the spirits and provide an uplifting experience for all.

While there will be no awards night or reception, due to Covid, the show may be viewed during library hours. More information may be found on the group’s website, at manchesterart.org.

This show appears through the combined efforts of the Suffield Arts Council, Manchester Art Association, and the Kent Memorial Library staff.
