Troop 260 and 262 had another awesome adventure in August biking the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is a 25-mile trail that starts in Yarmouth and ends in Wellfleet.

In preparation for this trip the troops reviewed bike safety, local laws and did a multi-point inspection on all bikes.
Scouts were up and out early for their bike trek and excited to hit the open pavement. When asked if they would like to buy lunch along the trail or pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it was unanimous to stop and eat along the way, a burger or lobster roll sounds way better than a PB&J!

The weather couldn’t have been any better. It was after the heatwave, in the mid 70s with a nice breeze and a bit overcast. Scouts biked in groups, setting their own pace and destination. The bike trail, which begins in Yarmouth traverses through Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and concludes in Wellfleet. Scouts biked between 15 to 50 miles. We are proud of our Scouts’ effort! It was a fun weekend.

All the sore muscles should be fully recovered for our next adventure which is exploring a cave system in New York in September.
