Rise to the Challenge Book Club
Monday, November 21 at 6:30 p.m.
Read and discuss books that have been challenged and/or banned. This month, the group will be reading Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. This is a version of the National Book Award-winning Stamped from the Beginning by Kendi, written for young adults (ages 12+) and adults. Through a gripping, fast-paced, and energizing narrative, Jason Reynolds shines a light on the many insidious forms of racist ideas and on ways readers can identify and stamp out racist thoughts in their daily lives. This discussion will be facilitated by Wendy Taylor, KML Children’s Librarian. Teens and adults are welcome. Registration is suggested but not required.
