The peripatetic Presser family’s travels brought the Observer to Negril, Jamaica. From the left: Johanne, young Maddie (with suitcase), Deedee (holding the paper), Dan (with the baby), Jay and young Barton and Beth.

Diana Simmons, center, holding her favorite newspaper, is pictured in mid-October with her son, David and daughter Nancy DePilla on the deck of their rented cottage, a lookout point with a great view of the Atlantic surf on the outer banks of North Carolina.

Tom and Carol Kaput are engrossed in the Observer on an ancient pathway from the 14th Century mountaintop Monsaraz Castle, a National monument in the Alentejo area of Portugal, near the Spanish border.
