Winter Reading at KML
It’s time for winter reading! From February 4 through March 4, each week that you read, come in and fill out a raffle ticket for a prize! Visit the library to learn more and to check out the prizes. Adult Programs

Fiber Friendly

Wednesdays, Feb. 8 and 22 at 4 p.m.
Are you someone who likes to knit, crochet, embroider, or engage in any other fiber-related interests? Bring a project you’re working on or start something new! Join us on alternate Wednesdays for conversation, camaraderie, and fiber artistry. No registration required; marble table seats 10. Open to all ages; people under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

“Let’s Roll” Truffle Making Class
Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.
In this class, Chef Renee will teach us how to make Chocolate Caramel Truffles rolled in Valrhona cocoa. You will get an opportunity to try your hand at rolling truffles, taste them, and take one home. All ingredients are provided. Registration required.

Rise to the Challenge Book Group
Monday, Feb.13 at 6:30 p.m.
Join us in reading and discussing books that have been challenged and/or banned. February’s discussion will focus on The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie. Copies of the book will be available at the library. Registration is encouraged.

Paint Night with Local Artist Glen Garrity

Anxiety Workshop Manage Your Anxiety
Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
Please join licensed therapist Vickie Alston LCSW, DCSW, and learn how to manage and treat anxiety with various techniques. 90-minute workshop with limited space. Registration required.

Teen Programs

Teens@TheLibrary: Winter Luminary Craft
Thursday, Feb. at 3:30 p.m.
Join us in making winter luminary jars! This program is for people in grades 5-12. No registration required; while supplies last. All materials provided thanks to the Friends of Kent Memorial Library.

Teens@TheLibrary: Teen Game Time
Thursday, Feb. 9 at 3:30 p.m.
What time is it? Muffin Time! Unwind and have a laugh while playing this very random card game by the creators of asdfmovie. Open to all people in grades 5-12. No registration required.

Teen Creativity Council
Thursday, Feb.16 at 3:30 p.m.
Join the Teen Creativity Council every third Thursday of the month to plan teen events, work on projects with the library’s collection, suggest books and more. Community service hours will be awarded. And as always, there will be a snack!

Nutmeg Book Club
Thursday, Feb. 23 at 3:30 p.m.
Join us for our KML Nutmeg Book Club – Middle Grade Edition! We’ll be discussing 2023 Nutmeg Book Award Nominee Middle School Nominee, Suggested Reading by Dave Connis. Books will be available to check out at the library. Open to all people in grades 5-12. No registration required.

Story Time: Four Weeks

Bring your singing voice! We sing, dance, blow bubbles — and have fun! No registration required.

Bring Your Child to the Library Day
Possums with Ferncroft Wildlife Rehabilitators
Saturday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m.
Learn about possums with Ferncroft Wildlife Rehabilitators. Learn about our backyard friend with possum ambassadors Mango and Bella. There will be time after the presentation to meet the possums and ask questions.

Drop-In Valentine Craft
Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10:30 am – 12:30 p.m.
Stop by to make Valentine crafts with Ms. Sandy! Drop-in, while supplies last.

Ice Hockey Science
Monday, Feb. 27 at 3:30 p.m.
Learn about the science of friction through the popular winter sport, ice hockey! Open to all people ages 6-12. Registration is recommended.
