A Moving Middle School? By Evan Monahan

One evening my father joined a zoom call about something that could change our town forever…

Suffield Middle School could be destroyed! My family was shocked. We had no clueabout it. The builder claims that there are three options if they upgrade it. The first two options are adding something onto the middle school. The add-ons would go where the buses and parent pick up in front of the building. The final option is to demolish the middle school and build a new one on the track behind McAlister!

SMS is a very old school. It was originally the high school. Then, years ago it changed tobecome the Suffield Middle School. In my opinion the Suffield Middle School is a very nice school, but it could use a small upgrade or even a redesign. To me it is very closed, and I think it could use a more open concept. But then again, I think it is in a great spot, and if it were to be moved it would have to be smaller. So that’s my opinion. Maybe you can write to The Suffield Observer and claim your opinion!

Ja Morante: My MVP By Gianni DeLucco

I think Ja Morant deserves an MVP award. Ja Morant is an NBA player who plays point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies at number 12. The past three MVP’s have both been exceptional performers. Giannis Antetokumpo was our 2019-2020 MVP winner, and then Nikola Jokic was the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 MVP.

Jokic had the same points per game as Morant in the 2021 season and Antetokumpo only had two more points per game than Morant. Morant has a vertical jump of 44 inches and to put that in perspective, the best vertical in NBA history is 48 inches, so he can block many shots.
This season he has had many accurate passes and a game with 49 points. This preseason, he scored a 360° dunk. He is a top scorer this season, and he is also a player who is very fun to watch because he can shoot threes, take it to the hoop and draw fouls. All these stats are vital for a great NBA MVP.

Labrador Retrievers By Maura Troy

A Labrador retriever’s life-span is 10 – 12 years. The male’s weight is 64-79 pounds and the female’s weight is 55-71 pounds. Their colors are black, yellow, brown and gray. Their height is 22-24 inches. Their temperament is even-tempered, intelligent, outgoing, kind, trusting and gentle. Their origin is Newfoundland. They are not hypoallergenic.

The Labrador retriever, or simply known as Labrador, is a British breed of retriever gun dog. It was developed in the United Kingdom from fishing dogs imported from the colony of Newfoundland and was named after the Labrador region of that colony.
