On Sunday, January 15 Second Baptist Church welcomed Anthony Ferreira as Music Director. Anthony received a Bachelor of Music from UMASS Amherst and Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He has had experience as director of choral music at both the high school and church settings. He is currently the Director of Vocal Music at Suffield High School and recently moved to Suffield. Welcome, Anthony!
At the time of this writing two members of the congregation are on a Light of Hope mission trip to Dominican Republic to assist a woman to make her home more livable, work with a preschool in the area, and continue to strengthen our relationship with a local church (El Redil De Salvacion church – Fold of Salvation – in Vero). Second Baptist Church has been supporting this area for many years and has made tentative plans to return this summer. Ash Wednesday Service on February 24 will be at 6:00 pm in the Common Room. If you are unable to attend the service and would like the administering of ashes please stop by the church between the hours of 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
