Director’s Corner
Summer is officially here! Getting outside and enjoying the warm weather is a great way to boost your physical and mental health. Whether it’s going for a walk, swimming or simply sitting outside and soaking up the sun, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors. Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and increase overall well-being. Our center is open regular business hours during these summer months and we have great lunches, including a cookout, planned for everyone to enjoy. So be sure to join us for some fun in the sun!

As we start the month of July, we are already planning for fall activities, and can’t wait for you and all of our new members to take part in them. It is so encouraging to hear the positive feedback of the atmosphere here at the Senior Center, and that we are offering a diverse set of programs and happenings for seniors of all ages. In addition, we are very excited to welcome our new members from other communities, who enjoy themselves so much here! The word is spreading outside of Suffield, and new members are coming from all over, even from communities that have Senior Centers! If you want to check out the Senior Center, just give a call and we can set you up with our welcoming committee. They are here “show you the ropes” and introduce you to other members. You can also just check it out ion your own if you wish.

I’d also like to give a special thank you to Jacq Nielson and Carol Ann Higgins who have been helping maintain the Senior Center garden. We appreciate your time and everything growing will be put to great use!
