The Suffield Arts Council has slated the work of Angelo Ferraro, a West Springfield artist, for display during September, in the Pinney Gallery of the Kent Memorial Library in Suffield.
Viewers will find a collection of work that includes paintings done with oil on canvas, with subjects including dancers surrounded in light and shadow, with a flair for the dramatic. Other favorites include still life, with an emphasis on the central subject, and both nature and animals, painted with a touch of photo realism.
Painting for most of his adult life, Ferraro has had some formal training in watercolor and illustration, but is essentially self-taught in oil and acrylic media.
His work is often found in art shows throughout our area and is prized by collectors across the country.
This show opens September 5 and will be on display throughout September, with a “Meet The Artist” reception in the gallery, on Thursday evening, September 14, from 6 – 8 p.m.
The combined efforts of the Suffield Arts Council, the artist, and the KML staff, made it possible.
