This late summer into fall, the Phelps-Hatheway House offers tours and special events for guests of all ages and interests!

Open Tour Day at Phelps-Hatheway, Sunday September 10, 1-4 p.m.

On Sunday, September 10, stop by the House and Gardens for a fascinating tour of the museum and a leisurely stroll in the gardens. Tours will be offered from 1-4 p.m. hourly. Admission is $12/adult, $10/senior, $8/children 6-18, and free to children under 6 and for members of CT Landmarks!.Our popular attic with the original possessions of the Hatheway family will be included. The Hatheway barn with early 20th century cars will also be open for viewing. Shopping for a special gift? Our small but delightful gift shop has treasures for all with complimentary gift wrap.

Music in the Hatheway Barn with Pizazz Strings, Sunday September 17, 2 p.m.

What would make a Sunday afternoon in a beautiful, historic barn more lovely? Adding a renowned ensemble of celebrated professional musicians! Pizazz Strings of Trumbull, CT will provide elegant music amidst the soaring timbers of the 1867 Hatheway Barn on this late summer day. Admission is free with donations to the House gratefully accepted.

The First Mechanic of New England: The Architectural Legacy of Asher Benjamin, Saturday October 7, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Celebrate the work and legacy of Asher Benjamin (1773-1845), one of the most influential members of the first generation of American architects. Take in a full day of learning and reflection – and the Fall foliage, of course! – at the site of his first formal architectural commission, the Phelps-Hatheway House, Suffield. Admission including lunch and a tour of the museum is $75, a member and student discount are available.
