Congratulations go out to four Suffield High School Track athletes who traveled out to Eugene, Oregon last week to compete in the 2023 Nike Outdoor National Championships.
Our SHS track athletes who competed in the 2023 Nike outdoor National Championships are (from left ot right) Donovan Koukal-Kiollie, Shannon Young, Craig Gnatek and Ryan Crocker.
Senior Donovon Koukal-Kollie competed in the Triple Jump and finished 19th with a distance of 41 feet and 8.75 inches.
Junior Shannon Young competed in the Javelin and finished 18th with a distance of 93 feet 1/2 inch.
Junior Craig Gnatek competed in three events: Shot Put and finished 26th with a distance of 45 feet and 10 inches; Javelin and finished 33rd with a distance of 117 feet and 9.5 inches, and the Hammer Throw. Unfortunately, Craig did fault on all three of his attempts in the Hammer.
Junior Ryan Crocker competed in the Javelin and finished in second place with a new personal record of 157 feet and 10.5 inches.
Congratulations to these amazing athletes for their hard work and dedication, representing Suffield High School and the Town of Suffield remarkably well!!
