Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 26 at 7 p.m. when Kent Memorial Library’s Books & Beyond Series will bring you author Pip Williams live from Adelaide, Australia. We will be discussing her New York Times’ bestselling novel Dictionary of Lost Words via Zoom.

In this remarkable debut novel based on actual events, as a team of male scholars compiles the first Oxford English Dictionary, one of their daughters decides to collect “objectionable” words they omit.

Set when the women’s suffrage movement was at its height and the Great War loomed, Dictionary of Lost Words reveals a lost narrative, hidden between the lines of a history written by men.

A powerful, captivating story for all who love words. The words we speak. The words we read. The words we write and the meaning of words.

Copies of the books are available at Kent Memorial Library. Please register for the event at www.suffield-library.org or call 860-668-3896.
