November is one of those busy months as we gear up for the Thanksgiving holiday and look forward to events for Advent and Christmas.

November starts off with the Feast of All Saints, November 1 and All Souls’ Day, November 2. The Holy Day is November 1 and Masses will be at 8 a.m.and 6 p.m. On All Souls’ Day there will be a Mass for all our beloved deceased at 8:00 AM. There will also be a rededication ceremony at St. Joseph Cemetery on Hill Street as we bless the St. Joseph Statue that was recently placed in the cemetery after having been moved from the St. Joseph Church property. The prayer service will include a blessing of the statue and prayers for the deceased. Throughout the month of November, the Catholic Church has a tradition of remembering and praying for those who have died.

On a lighter note, the Annual Christmas Fair will take place in Fr. Ted Hall on Saturday, November 4 from 9 -3 and will include local crafters as well as numerous raffles to benefit our Parish Scholarship Fund. All are welcome to attend!

Our Human Needs Committee will be involved in a variety of activities to help provide Thanksgiving and Christmas food and gifts for members of the local community in cooperation with Suffield Community Aid and the other faith communities and charitable groups throughout the area.

We will also be having a program on St. Pope John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body.” This series of talks will take place on Monday evenings for a discussion on what it means to be truly human–the connection of the physical and the divine. We will examine the questions of “Where am I from?” and “Where am I going?” Simple enough, right? Sessions will begin Monday, November 13 and run through December 11.
