This year the Suffield Regional Agriscience Program has four CDE teams going to compete at the FFA National Convention November 1-4. CDE stands for Career Development Event, and consists of a contest where members can improve agricultural skills that they may use to succeed in an agricultural career field of their choosing. First you must compete at the state level at the University of Connecticut, here the students compete against others in the same state. The first-place teams then went on to compete at the regional level at the Big E this year, where they competed against teams from other states nearby. Now those teams will be traveling to Indianapolis, Indiana to compete against students from all over the nation. Good luck to our Livestock Evaluation, Ag Business, Floriculture and Nursery Landscape teams!

Also in November is our annual Holiday Sale. We will be open on Wednesday, November 29 through December 2 in the Large Animal Facility at Suffield High School. Join us on the 29 and 30 for Make and Take night. You will have the option of making a 12” wreath, kissing balls or cemetery boxes. All are welcome and encouraged to invite friends and family. On December 2, we will be selling goods at the Suffield Farmers Market as well, which is located in our Large Animal Facility. Please stop by and check out our wreaths, birch reindeer, and even door swags. Any support is greatly appreciated!
