Since 1998, the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) has been recognizing local boards of education with Board of Education Leadership Award for their efforts to further enhance educational programs and opportunities within public schools across the State of Connecticut. For a second year in a row, the Suffield Board of Education was awarded this prestigious award at the annual CABE/CAPSS Convention in November.
The CABE Board Leadership Award is bestowed to Boards of Education that fulfill a minimum of twenty-two criteria in the areas of leadership/student achievement, professional development for Board members, policy development and implementation, community relations, and related organizational leadership. The Suffield Board of Education was one of twelve districts across the state to receive this year’s recognition. Bethany, Bloomfield, Cheshire, East Lyme, Hartford, Madison, Plainville, Portland, Preston, Westbrook, and Woodbridge were also recognized. As a second-year award recipient, the Suffield Board of Education will now qualify for the Board Distinction Award.
