On December 7, the first night of Hanukkah was observed on Suffield’s middle green for the first time by a big crowd of well-wishers. The Yeshiva in Suffield organized the event and included a menorah lighting, delicious sufganiyot (doughnuts), hot chocolate, chocolate gelt and an invitation to dance. The story of Hanukkah was told before the menorah lighting and many of the Yeshiva students enjoyed the dancing and eating.
