Come Join the Suffield Fire Department Auxiliary for a family fun night out and enjoy a game of bingo while supporting a worthy cause! The Suffield Fire Department Auxiliary is hosting its 1st Annual Bingo with a “kick” at the Suffield Senior Center on Saturday, April 13. Doors open at 6 pm, and bingo starts at 7. Space is limited! This fun event will consist of six games of bingo/12 Prizes. Each game there’s a chance to win one of two prizes – a designer handbag or a $100 gift card. The bingo winner picks one prize and the other prize “kicks” (to the second chance drawing). This game night is fun, entertaining, and fast-paced.
Ticket Price
- $35 per person ticket includes one bingo card for each of the six games and one kick draw ticket.
- BONUS! Reserve a full table of six and you will receive one bonus bingo card for each of the six games.
Extra bingo cards and kicks tickets will be available to purchase the night of the party. We will also have an assortment of raffle prizes up for grabs that members will be selling tickets for. For this event, you can bring your own snacks & beverages (non-alcoholic only as this event is being held on the Town of Suffield property).
Please consider joining us to have fun, win some great prizes, and support a great organization. The Suffield Fire Department Auxiliary is an organization that was created in December 1985. The original members consisted of wives, sisters, daughters, and grandparents of the members of the Suffield Volunteer Fire Department. The main goal was to support our firefighters in areas where the town was not able to fund various equipment. The Auxiliary’s also helps to foster and promote cooperation and good fellowship among the department.
Through the years, the Auxiliary held various fundraisers ranging from cookbooks, and tag sales, to the 5K Road Race. The most popular fundraiser in our community is to participate in the Annual Christmas in Suffield Craft Fair at the Main Fire House in town in November. This has been the longest-lasting fundraiser for the Auxiliary, and this craft fair has become very popular!
Over the years the Suffield Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary has purchased fire-related safety equipment for the town such as:
- A portable water tank for Company 2’s Engine 2. This serves as a “pond” that can be placed next to the fire trucks to aid in the supply of water at a structure fire where fire hydrants are not available.
- Air rescue bags were first purchased by the group. These life-saving devices allowed the fireman to lift a vehicle for rescue efforts or stabilize the vehicle.
- In honor of the group’s 30th anniversary, the Auxiliary presented the Suffield Fire Department with a Kubota all-terrain utility vehicle and trailer. The UTV known as UTV 4 to the Fire Department has been instrumental in off-road rescue situations. This has been a vital lifesaving tool when accessing locations such as West Suffield Mountain or Sunrise Park trying to locate a lost person who may have wandered off trail or gaining access to remote dirt roads that a fire apparatus is not able to go.
- The Ladies Auxiliary supports the Suffield Fire Department at major structure fires providing them with food, hot coffee and water, and help behind the scenes to ensure their safety.
- The group is also able to recognize those firefighters who have selflessly volunteered for the town upon their retirement.
- Lastly, we also help support the firefighters with ever-changing technology. The group has supported research into new safety equipment for testing. The Auxiliary has purchased smaller equipment such as face masks that allow the evaluation and testing on a small scale to keep our firefighters safe.
