First Church of Christ, Congregational UCC of Suffield, CT is an open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. We welcome all to join us in worship Sunday mornings at 10:00 am, in-person or through our YouTube livestream.

No matter who you are, or where you are, on life’s journey, YOU are welcome here. Come as you are, for this is God’s house—a house of prayer for all people, and God welcomes each one who comes.

Lent began on February 14, Ash Wednesday, where we joined together in an Agape Meal and Ash Wednesday Service at First Church.

Rev. Diann continues to run a dedicated and vibrant Lent themed Wednesday morning Bible study group at 10:00am each week via Zoom; contact us for more information.

Our “Going the Extra Mile” Mission Offering and Lenten Offering this year will support Heifer International. Heifer International is on a mission to end hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by supporting and investing alongside local farmers and their communities. Learn more by attending one of our services or donate online through our website firstchurchsuffield.org.

Holy Week begins on March 24 with our Palm Sunday Service. Palm Sunday recalls Jesus entering into Jerusalem; a reminder of the welcoming of Jesus into our hearts and of our willingness to follow him. This is a Hands on Faith Sunday!

Our Maundy Thursday Service is March 28 at 7 p.m. in our Sanctuary. Maundy Thursday, the Thursday before Easter, is observed in commemoration of Jesus Christ and the Last Supper with the Apostles.

Our Good Friday Service will be held at 3 p.m. on March 29 at Second Baptist Church. Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death.

Easter Sunday, March 31, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at 6 a.m. with our community Sunrise Service at Sunrise Park. All are welcome to attend this moving sunrise service.

Our Easter Celebration Service will be held at 10 a.m. in our Sanctuary on Easter Sunday. All are welcome to join us. Christ is Risen!

Our Blessing Box is located right in front of First Church on High St. and is open to our neighbors and community members to “take what you need; leave what you can”. We encourage our community to donate; please do not donate perishable foods or foods requiring refrigeration.

First Church hosts support groups in our building for their meetings, including Narcotics Anonymous, Families Anonymous, and Alcoholics Anonymous. Contact us for the full list of meeting information.
