Ag Expo

April will be a very exciting month this year. April 3-4 is the biannual Ag Expo where anyone can come in and see the program. All are welcome to attend. Every agriscience room will be open to showcase what students do in the program, get a tour of the facility, watch a student lead demo, meet agriscience students and ask them questions, meet some animals and much more. Come visit us at the Ag Expo at Suffield High School on April 3 from 2:15 – 8 p.m. and again on April 4 from 2:15 – 4 p.m.

This year the Suffield Regional FFA is going on a tour of many different countries in Europe April 9-17. A total of 42 people including students, teachers and chaperones from both the Suffield and Rockville chapters will take a 10-day tour of Europe including Paris, Amsterdam, Belgium and more to explore what agriculture looks like in other countries. This is the first time we have done this, and we are very excited to be able to take up this amazing opportunity. Unfortunately, this will not be able to happen every year although we hope to be able to offer this to students again in the future.

Awards night is around the corner on May 16. This is an exciting event where students are awarded for their accomplishments in the Agriscience Program. The most exciting part of this event is that every senior in the program is recognized and will receive their blue and gold FFA cords that they will wear during graduation. On May 18, we will be attending the May Market. Ms. Davis’s plant science class is growing micro greens that will be for sale at this time.
