Driving For a Cure

Now in its 18th year, Team Driving For a Cure, a local non-profit, is committed to help find treatments and cures for all cancers. Over the years, we have raised funds for the American Cancer Society, CT Children’s Medical Center, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. We have raised over $150,000, much of which was designated to finding a cure for Ewings Sarcoma, which took the life of one of our youngest team members. Since 2018, we have been proud to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has its roots in a lemonade stand in Windsor, Connecticut of four-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer. She wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of eight, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation backing her name has raised more than $250 million and funded over 1,000 research projects of nearly 150 institutions in the U.S. and Canada.
