Adult Programs

Movies at the Library –  KML is showing movies again! Visit our website at www.suffield-library.org/ for more information, including this month’s movie showtimes.

Wanderlust Club – Introducing the Wanderlust Club – where travel enthusiasts unite to celebrate the thrill of adventure and discovery. Come join your fellow travelers (or people interested in learning about different places) to swap stories, share experiences and travel tips! May 29 at 2 p.m. at Kent Memorial Library.

Fiber Friendly – Wednesdays, May 1, 15 and 29 at 4 p.m.
Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting, embroidering, or engaging in other fiber-related interests? Bring a project you’re working on or start something new! Join us on alternate Wednesdays for conversation, camaraderie, and fiber artistry. No registration required; marble table seats 10. Open to all ages; people under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Books and Beyond Discussion with Alka Joshi –  Thursday, May 2 at 7 p.m. on Zoom
Alka will be joining us to discuss her latest novel The Perfumist of Paris via Zoom on Thursday, May 2 at 7 p.m. Registration is required. Copies of the book are available at the library.

Thursday Readers Book Discussion Group – Thursday, May 30 at 1 p.m.
Get together on the last Thursday of the month with other readers to discuss a book. Books are available at the library. Registration is not required. The May title will be The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel.

Tech Time –  Wednesday, May 8 and 22 1-3 p.m.
Do you want help with your laptop, smartphone, or tablet? Don’t let technology frustration hold you back on alternate Wednesdays! Whether you need help troubleshooting an issue, setting up a new device, or down-loading eBooks and eAudiobooks, we’ve got you covered! No registration required. First come, first served.

Arttitude – Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m.
Come for a fun and informative art therapy workshop with Arttitude. A student led nonprofit organization dedicated to making the healing benefits of art therapy accessible to everyone. Registration is required, all art materials will be provided. Open to all ages; people under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Kid and Teen Programs

Nutmeg Book Club – Thursday, May 16 at 3:30 p.m.
Join us for our KML Nutmeg Book Club! The May title is Loki: A Bad God’s Guide to Being Good by Louie Strowell. Books will be available to check out at the library. Open to all people in grades 5-12. No registration required.

Rhyme Time – Fridays, May 3, 10, 17, and 31 at 10:30 a.m.Recommended Ages 0-5

New Nutmeg Books! – The new 2025 Nutmeg books are here! We will have multiple copies of each book available at the library.

Miss Wendy at School – We are busy preparing for the summer reading programs. As a part of that Miss Wendy will be coming to visit the schools. She will be at Spaulding May 20-24 and at McAlister June 3-7.

Chickens! – Starting May 9, we will be setting up an incubator in the library, and we will try to hatch some baby chicks! Follow along with us on this journey, as we will candle the eggs once a week and do updates.

Come see our new fish tank at the library donated by the Friends of KML!
