The Suffield Veterans Memorial Expansion Committee has announced July 1, 2024 as the last day it will receive names for inclusion on the new veteran’s memorial. This is to ensure that the names are properly vetted. Then, the designer produces the CAD files, the stone quarry engraves the names and the installer has time to complete the work for Veterans Day.
Veterans who entered active duty during the period of September 11, 2001, through September 10, 2022 (All active-duty service) and from September 11, 2022 – present (active-duty awarded the Global War on Terror Service Medal) along with the following criteria are eligible.
- Men and Women whose principal address was in the Town of Suffield when they entered active duty.
- Service Branches include Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force.
- Service must have been other than dishonorable.
- DD214 and/or other supporting documents must be submitted for review.
- Must be requested by the veteran if living.
