Mini Bus Trips – All trips require five passengers and weather permitting. Please call 860-668-3844 to make reservation.

  • Shopping at Trader Joe’s – Tuesday, July 2; Pickups begin 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch at Francesco’s – Friday, July 5; pickups begin 11:30 a.m.
  • Lunch at The Summer House – Tuesday, July 9; pickups begin 8:30 a.m.
  • Shopping at Clinton Crossing followed by lunch at Lenny & Joe’s Fish Tale – Tuesday, July 16; pickups begin 8:30 a.m.
  • Shopping at Walmart – Thursday, July 18; pickups begin 8:30 a.m.
  • Ice Cream at Hilltop Creamery – Friday, July 26; pickups begin 12 p.m.
  • Lunch at Olive Garden – Tuesday, July 30; pickups begin 11:30 a.m.

Lunch Menu – Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Lunches are $5 and include coffee, tea, cold beverage, and dessert.

Tuesday

  • July 2 - Hamburger steak with onion gravy on mashed potatoes, vegetables
  • July 9 - Spinach and sausage quiche with a hash brown crust, biscuit with butter and jelly
  • July 16 - Cheesy chicken and broccoli casserole, Caesar salad
  • July 23 - Chicken burrito bowl with avocado and ranch dressing, chips and salsa
  • July 30 - English muffin pizza with mushrooms, olives, and pepperoni

Wednesday

  • July 3 - Four cheese tortellini salad, chicken salad on finger rolls
  • July 10 - Rigatoni bolognaise, garlic bread, and cucumber salad
  • July 17 - Meatloaf muffins with oven roasted potatoes, vegetables
  • July 24 - Two hot dogs with a side of sauerkraut, French fries, and cole slaw
  • July 31 - Ham steak, pineapple cheese casserole, baked potato

Thursday

  • July 11 - Crockpot chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, vegetables
  • July 18 - Imitation crab salad stuffed pita, caprese pasta salad
  • July 25 - Shrimp with ravioli, tossed salad, bread and butter

FREE! Quail Run Estates Senior Living will be hosting BINGO with refreshments and prizes!

Lunch & Learn with Resilience Physical Therapy
Monday, July 22, 12 p.m.
FREE! Resilience Physical Therapy is providing lunch and a 30-minute presentation where they will show simple stretches to retain mobility and explain ways to access physical therapy.

Senior Center Karaoke
Tuesday, July 30, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
FREE! Come on down and sing your heart out with light refreshments and fun.

Pill Bottle Recycling Day
Thursday, July 18, 10:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
FREE! Safely dispose of your old medication bottles with a box and an identity theft protection roller stamp from SPD.

Intergenerational Candle Making Workshop
Tuesday, July 16, 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.
ALL Love Candles will help people of all ages create their own candle to bring home! Light refreshments will be provided. $10 per person.

Paint and Plant
Tuesday, July 23 1:30 p.m. –3 p.m.
Paint a terra cotta pot with The Flower Shed and then plant a beautiful succulent! $15 per person.

Painting Class
Thursday, July 18, 10 a.m.
Nina with Create and Paint Fun will help you create a painting with guided step by step directions. No art experience required. All supplies included. $25 Residents; $30 Nonresidents

Card Making Class
Tuesday, July 9, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Girl Scouts Car Wash
Saturday, July 27, 10 a.m-2: p.m.
Seniors $5 per car. Non-seniors $10 per car.

Haircuts by Rosemarie
Monday, July 29, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Women’s $15; Men’s $10. Must come with clean, washed hair.

AARP Safe Driver Course
Upcoming Classes: Tuesday, July 16, Tuesday, October 15, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
$20 AARP Member; $25 Non-member payment by cash or check to the instructor. $5 per person facility fee is paid directly to the Senior Center. By cash or check on the day of the class.

Hello July! We’re in the full swing of summer here at the Senior Center. Keep an eye out for even more events happening in August, including more Mini Bus trips, more fantastic lunches, a Musical Bingo, a BBQ, an ice cream social, and a free painting class.

Please remember that we are closed on the 4th of July, but don’t forget to stop by the day before and make a patriotic wreath with us to hang up at home. Check out our newsletter for more information on our fitness classes and support services.
