Want to collect your food scraps for the dumpster behind the town hall but don’t know where to start? Come to this informative workshop, complete with pizza, drinks and snacks, on Wednesday, October 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Senior Center.
It’s free to all ages five and older and is hosted by Sustainable Suffield, Suffield Youth Services and the Parks and Recreation Department. Sustainable Suffield will explain why it’s important to collect food scraps, and how they help make electricity for homes, organic fertilizer for farms and animal bedding.
You’ll eat at 5:30 p.m. followed by the presentation at 6 p.m. You’ll leave with your own free countertop food scrap bin and compostable bags, courtesy of Sustainable Suffield. Please register by Monday, October 14 at suffieldrec.com.
