The Suffield Parks and Recreation’s 44h Annual 10K Road Race, 20th Annual 5K Run, 2.5 Mile Walk and Kids Fun Run Road Race presented by PeoplesBank were held on Saturday, September 7 starting at Suffield Middle school. It was a beautiful day, and the weather was perfect for this annual town tradition, and for the official kick off for the Suffield on the Green weekend. We had a record-setting attendance of over three hundred total participants, who enjoyed the picturesque courses that Suffield has to offer.
We would like to thank all those who made this event possible. Special thanks to the volunteers, Parks and Rec Commission, Police, Ambulance, Explorers, Suffield Senior Center, Youth Services, Public Works, First Selectman’s office, Suffield Public Schools and all those who devoted their time to make this a memorable and safe event for the participants. A big shout also goes out to Lynn Joyal for putting together and making such a beautiful Suffield Parks and Recreation Quilt that included road race t-shirts from nearly all our previous races. Everyone loved this very thoughtful quilt, and we utilized it for display and for the backdrop of our awards celebration.
A special thank you to our generous sponsors: Presenting sponsor PeoplesBank; Kids Fun Run and Age Group Prizes, The Stephanie Salerno Team; Hospitality, Suffield Village Market; Lead Vehicle, Artioli Dodge; Lodging, Lily House.
