Fiber Friendly – Wednesday, November 13 at 4 p.m.
Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting, embroidering, or engaging in other fiber-related interests? Bring a project you’re working on or start something new! Join us on alternate Wednesdays for conversation, camaraderie, and fiber artistry. No registration required; marble table seats 10. Open to all ages; people under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Thursday Readers Book Discussion Group – Thursday, November 21 at 1 p.m.
Get together on the last Thursday of the month with other readers to discuss a book. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, this month will be the third Thursday of the month. Books are available at the library. Registration is not required. The November title will be Everybody’s Son by Thrity Umrigar.

Rise to the Challenge book discussion – Monday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m.
A book group for adults to read and discuss books that have been challenged and/or banned. Copies of the book will be available at the library. No registration required. Please be aware that this group discusses books which may include sensitive topics. The November title is Beyond the Chocolate War by Robert Cormier.

Smokey Bear Reading Challenge – Saturday, September 28 To November 23
Ages 4-10 (but everyone is welcome)
Smokey Bear has encouraged wildfire prevention for 80 years! To celebrate, libraries have collaborated with the USDA Forest Service to celebrate with the Smokey Bear Reading Challenge. We’ll get participants started by taking the Smokey Bear Pledge, reading a book, and completing a few activities to earn badges.
Dino-rama Competition Sign Up (and Dino Distribution) begins Monday, October 28

To celebrate Dino-vember this year, we invite you to participate in our Dino-rama competition. We’ll provide entrants with a selection of random dinosaur figures for the creation of a diorama; no other materials will be provided. See our website and socials for further details.
Elementary Nutmeg Book Discussion – The Great Stink – Wednesday November 20 at 2 pm.
Grades K – 3. Space is limited; registration or drop in.
Where does all the poop go after it goes down the drain? Well, about 160 years ago, in London, it went out to the river, where it made a great stink. We’ll read the 2025 Elementary Nutmeg Nominee The Great Stink by Colleen Paeff — the story about how Joseph Bazalgette solved the poop problem — make a craft and take home a plant.

History of the Mohegan Tribe with David Eichelberg – Saturday November 23 at 10:30 a.m.

KML will be closed Monday November 11 for Veterans Day and Thursday November 28 through November 30 for Thanksgiving.
