The Suffield Historical Society will meet on Wednesday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance building for a visit with lecturer and historian Dennis Picard. His topic for the evening is Poultices, Decoctions & Infusions: A Look at 19th Century Cures. When trained medical practitioners were scarce, feared and expensive, Americans trusted general store cure-alls, nostrums and elixirs to cure everything from headaches to cholera and cancer.
