On March 1, Reverend James Leavitt will officially start as Interim Pastor – he will be introduced and welcomed into our congregation on Sunday, March 2 and will begin leading our services on March 9. Rev. Leavitt has extensive interim pastoral experience in Massachusetts and comes highly recommended by the Executive Ministers at American Baptist Churches of Connecticut and Massachusetts. He approaches his ministry as a listener and will be able to help us as we move forward and prepare for our next settled pastor. He views ministry as a cooperative effort between pastor, church leadership and the people of the congregation. We look forward to meeting Rev. Leavitt and working with him as we discern where God is leading Second Baptist! A Pastoral Search Committee is being formed to head the task of selecting a settled pastor to lead the church going forward.
