Petty Officer 2nd Class Dustin Doyon
Dustin Doyon’s principal outlook in life was to live each day to its fullest. Everything he did was for love of friend, family, neighbor, co-worker, in desire for dignity, respect and honor. Dustin excelled in rank as an Electronics Technician (ET) to Petty Officer 2nd Class in less than two years’ time. With his athletic ability, he became one of the ship’s Search and Rescue Swimmers. Dustin was approached when on deployment on the USS John S McCain to consider changing his MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) from ET to Navy Diver; they saw great potential in his skill, athletic abilities, dedication and strength. He loved to fish, run, hike, camp, swim, ski, dive, cook, bake and be adventurous. He had a deep faith and love for God and country.
The Dustin Doyon Scholarship Foundation is in memory of him and is given to one male and one female running athlete graduating high school and continuing their education in the military, college or trade school. The Scholarship is a non-profit 501(c)-3 established in 2018.
