Spring-like weather has been a bit evasive. However, the April snow did not dampen the interest of gardeners at Hilltop. The Community Garden for 2025 is sold out with all 30 plots rented. Gardeners will begin their magic sometime after mid-May after the land is plowed, harrowed and plots are marked off. Gardeners will be notified, with suggestions and helpful hints for successful gardening when the gardens are ready.
The beautiful Hilltop Farm area
Hilltop has become a very popular place for walkers, with and without dogs. Please observe Hilltop’s policy of “Dogs Leashed” and respect our gardens by keeping pets out of all the gardens around the farm. Volunteers are working towards creating a public space for people, but we also are trying to establish a welcoming area for birds, bees, butterflies and other wildlife. We ask that you keep your pets out of the Community Garden as people have rented this space and work hard to maintain their gardens.
As you enjoy your ice cream from the Creamery and stroll around the farm, please note that we have barrels available for disposal of your trash, so please use them, and we appreciate pet clean-up as well. Let’s keep Hilltop a pleasant place for all.
