Movies at the Library – KML is showing movies again! Visit our website at www.suffield-library.org/ for more information, including this month’s movie showtimes.

Thursday Readers Book Discussion Group, Thursday, May 29 at 1 p.m. – Get together on the last Thursday of the month with other readers to discuss a book. Books are available at the library. Registration is not required. The May title will be House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson.

Tech Time, Every Wednesday 1:30-3:30 p.m. – Do you want help with your laptop, smartphone, or tablet? Don’t let technology frustration hold you back – come to KML Tech Time on alternate Wednesdays! Whether you need help troubleshooting an issue, setting up a new device, or downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks, we’ve got you covered!
 No registration required. First come, first served.

Rise to the Challenge book discussion, Monday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. – A book group for adults to read and discuss books that have been challenged and/or banned. Copies of the book will be available at the library. No registration required. Please be aware that this group discusses books which may include sensitive topics. The May titles are Maus and Maus II by Art Speigelman.

Fiber Friendly, Wednesdays, May 14, and 28 at 4 p.m. – Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting, embroidering, or engaging in other fiber-related interests? Bring a project you’re working on or start something new! Join us on alternate Wednesdays for conversation, camaraderie, and fiber artistry. No registration required; marble table seats 10. Open to all ages; people under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Books and Beyond Discussion with Marjan Kamali, Thursday, May 8 at 7 p.m. on Zoom – Marjan Kamali will be joining us to discuss her novel The Lion Women of Tehran via Zoom on Thursday, May 8 at 7p.m. Registration is required. Copies of the book are available at the library.

So, you want to be a…, Tuesday May 6 at 6:30 p.m. – Beginning May 6, we will start running a new series every other Tuesday night. Right now, there are more young adults not headed down the 4-year college path and considering trades. But this program isn’t just for kids; it’s for parents, or any adult who’s thinking of switching careers or even if you’re just curious. Everyone and their questions are welcome. We will interview a different trade each Tuesday. Let’s talk about the realities of the job, salary, lifestyle and what are the different avenues to get into that career. May 6 we will have John and Rich here from West Side Oil to talk about plumbing.

Kids and Teens Programs

Chick Hatching – We hatched some chicks, come and meet them!

Robotics Team Demonstration, Saturday May 3 – The Robotics Team will be here taking over the children’s room with the robot they built and took to competition this year. Come watch and play and even get some info about how you can join Robotics!

Rhyme Time, Fridays May 2, 9, 16 and 23 at 10:30 a.m. – Bring your singing voice on Fridays! We sing, dance, blow bubbles — and have fun!
Drop in; no registration required. Recommended ages 0-5.

Teen Nutmeg Book Club, Thursday, May1 at 3:30 p.m. – Join us for our KML Nutmeg Book Club! Books will be available to check out at the library. Open to all people in grades 5-12. No registration required.

Visiting Spaulding, May 19, 27, 28, 29 and 30, Miss Wendy will be visiting Spaulding School in May to tell students all about the Summer Reading program! She’ll be bringing a bunch of new books to share as well!
