Congratulations to the following Suffield High School students who were recent recipients of the North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce (NCCCC) Kindness Award: Azura Eckley and Aubrey Couchon.

The North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce recognizes an SHS student each month who has demonstrated exceptional kindness. For February, senior, Azura Eckley was nominated by Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher, Mrs. McCluskey. She wrote, “I have Az in my Fashion class and she has helped make such a positive experience for one of the special education students in the class. She has been a great, positive role model and a genuinely kind person. Az has shown empathy and compassion, helping her peers understand the concepts we have covered in class. I have witnessed her patiently demonstrate sewing and embroidery techniques, which has made a significant positive impact on her classmates. Her creativity, maturity, and overall positive presence enriches the Suffield High School community. It has been a pleasure getting to know her this semester, and I am thankful for all she brings to our class.”

Freshman, Aubrey Couchon received the Kindness Award for March. School Psychologist, Mrs. Sweeney, wrote, “Aubrey demonstrates kindness and positive social communication skills on a daily basis. Her actions promote inclusivity, the development of positive relationships and makes others feel appreciated. Aubrey epitomizes the quote by C. S. Lewis: “Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.”
