On January 1, 2026, First Church Suffield welcomed Interim Minister Christopher Hart to Suffield. First Church Congregational in Suffield is part of the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ (UCC). It is common practice in the UCC for churches to call an Interim Minister to assist a church in preparing for and searching for a settled Senior Minister. This process can often take one to two years to accomplish the reflection and written profile needed during a leadership change.
Pastor Chris comes to us with a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary and as a current Social Transformation Doctoral Student. He is a dynamic fusion of poet, storyteller, process theologian and revitalization pastor, blending science with faith. As a faculty member of the Interim Ministry Network, he’s passionate about empowering communities of faith to grow, change and flourish. Married to his high school sweetheart and father to three children, he’s a lover of long road trips, good coffee, science fiction, and homemade creations. Pastor Chris is the go-to for helping communities of faith not just manage but thrive during times of transition.
