Winter Reading starts February 2
This year’s theme for Winter Reading is “There’s SNOW better time to read!” The program will run for the month of February, ending on the 28th, and we’ve got a great line up of programs and prizes for adults and kids. Read anything and everything you like, books, audiobooks, magazines etc., everything counts! So, let’s get to reading and have some fun!
Programs for Adults
Let it Flow Yoga
Wednesday February 4 at 5 p.m.
We invite you to join us for an evening of gentle yoga in this 45-minute session and experience the many benefits of this mindful practice. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your own mat. Participants of all levels are welcome. Registration is required.
There’s SNOW better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating
Wednesday February 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Join Stacey from The Cookie Jar as she teaches us the art of cookie decorating. You’ll get to decorate three cookies alongside her and take them home to share with your Valentine. Registration is required.
Dough-It-Yourself Pizza Class
Wednesday February 18 at 5 p.m.
In this hands-on learning experience, Matthew will teach us the art of dough and sauce making, the rolling and stretching of pizza dough and the dressing and firing of the pizza pie. Everyone will leave with their own 10-inch pizza. Registration is required.
KML Quiet Time Book Club
Monday February 23 at 6 p.m.
Looking to jump-start your winter reading? Need some accountability finishing those last couple chapters? Come to the KML Quiet Time Book Club! Take some time for yourself to read whatever strikes your fancy in the company of other book lovers. Bring your own or find one at the library. No social interaction required.
Create Your Own Cyanotype Art – Adults
Tuesday, February 10 at 1 p.m.
Join us to create stunning personal cyanotype prints! This historic, camera-less photographic method uses UV light and chemistry to produce striking blue images that become permanent after rinsing. All materials will be provided, each patron will have the opportunity to make two prints, one artistic and one using a favorite photo. Registration is required.
Wrap Up Party
Saturday February 28 at 1:30 p.m.
Join us for fun, food, and games. We will be announcing the winners live. First come, first served.

Rise to the Challenge Book Group
Monday, February 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Join us in reading and discussing books that have been challenged and/or banned. February’s book will be The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. Copies of both books will be available at the library. Please be aware that this group discusses books which may include sensitive topics. Registration is not required.
Thursday Readers Book Discussion Group
Thursday, February 26 at 1 p.m.
Get together on the last Thursday of the month with other readers to discuss a book. Books are available at the library. Registration is not required. The February title will be Three Days in June by Anne Tyler.
Rabble Readers Escapist Lit Book Club
Tuesday February 17 at 7 p.m.
Rabble Readers is an Escapist Lit book club at KML for adults. We’ll read fantasy, sci-fi, and horror, anything that takes us away! We will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. Copies of the books will be available at the library; no registration is required. February’s title is One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig.
Mahjong
Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Join us for a morning of American Mahjong!
Make new friends as you play one of the world’s oldest tile-based games. For Adults -Basic knowledge of the game required. Please bring your 2025 NMJL (National Mahjong Junior League) card. Registration required.

Dinosaur Fossils with Jurassic Classroom

Kids’ Craft: Venetian Masks
Saturday, February 14 at 2 p.m. – For Ages 6 – 12
Come decorate fancy masks with us! We’ll use markers, stickers, feathers and gems to transform plain white masks into works of art! Whether you wear your mask or hang it on a wall, participants will leave with works of art.
Lunar New Year

Learn more about Lunar New Year! There will be a craft, traditional calligraphy, veggie dumplings and games! Be sure to try it all. 2026 is the year of the horse, one of the luckiest Chinese zodiac signs. Did you know that in Chinese, “upside-down” sounds identical to the phrase “good luck arrives”? Drop by and learn other interesting things! No registration required.
Secret Agent Training Camp
Wednesday, February 18 at 10:30 a.m.
Ages 6-12
Do you have what it takes to be a secret agent? We’re hosting a training camp for future secret agents. We’ll learn about secret codes, the art of disguise, and more! Space is limited; registration is required. After registration is complete, attendees will receive a secret password to allow them entry to the camp.
Drop in Lego Build
Saturday February 28 between 9:30 a.m. and noon.
Stop at the Children’s Room between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and build a 77-piece Lego Mickey or Minnie Mouse. It’s yours to take home and keep! Ages 6+ can do this independently, younger kids that want to participate can do so with parent assistance. While supplies last.

Open to Kids 10+ (under 12, adult must remain in the building)
Welcome to our club, where neurodivergence is celebrated! If you are neurodivergent or you have a friend that is, come hang out with us! All kids 10+ are welcome, regardless of diagnosis. We’ll have snacks, play games, do crafts, and generally celebrate being ourselves. (This is a social group and will not provide diagnosis or therapy.)
The Kids Who Read Books Book Club
