Congratulations to Suffield High School students, Ashton Egan and Peyton Libby who were recent recipients of the North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce (NCCCC) Kindness Award.
Each month the North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce recognizes a SHS student who has demonstrated exceptional kindness.
For September, junior, Peyton Libby, received the honor after nominations from SHS faculty and staff. Volleyball Coach, Mr. Plano wrote, “This award is presented to a truly amazing student whose kindness and initiative shine every day. Peyton goes out of her way to support her teammates and younger players in volleyball and track, taking the time to teach, encourage, and include everyone. Whether it’s sitting with someone who is alone, putting things away without being asked, or stepping up to help in any situation, she consistently goes above and beyond. Her natural ability to notice when others need support and her eagerness to step in makes a lasting impact on those around her. She not only builds friendships within her own team, but also reaches out to players from other teams, offering help and kindness wherever it’s needed. She is a role model of compassion, leadership, and genuine care for others.”
Congratulations Peyton! The NCCCC is making a donation in Peyton’s honor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. If you would like to make a donation, please go to: https://www.stjude.org/
Senior Ashton Egan received the Kindness Award for October. Science Teacher, Mrs. Sullivan wrote, “I am impressed by the level of respect I have seen Ashton show to others. Recently, he offered to carry a paraprofessional’s bag to the second floor because the elevator was not working. Additionally, he worked with a behavioral and cognitively challenged student in group work with a lot of patience and kindness. These are just a few examples of the way he has exhibited kindness towards others.”
Congratulations Ashton! The NCCCC is making a donation in Ashton’s honor to the Susan G. Komen organization. If you would like to make a donation, please go to: https://www.komen.org/
Congratulations Peyton and Ashton for demonstrating exceptional kindness and setting a great example for others!
