Bowling Buddies Celebrate a Holiday Season to Remember
The holiday season sparkled brighter than ever this year for the Suffield Parks & Recreation Department’s Bowling Buddies Group, whose calendar was filled with joy, friendship and unforgettable celebrations—culminating in a truly magical New Year’s trip to Bright Nights in Springfield.

The Bowling Buddies celebrated throughout the season in many special ways, including a fun-filled Holiday Present Making Party, a Fiesta and Pizza with Santa Night, and a Fellowship and Game Night at Second Baptist Church with a special visit from Santa. The group also enjoyed their annual Holiday Party at the Suffield Senior Center, where special guest DJ Kevin Landolina spun everyone’s favorite music, transforming the Senior Center Great Room into a lively dance party. Families danced the night away following a delicious catered meal from Suffield Pizza, making the evening one filled with great food, music, and holiday cheer.
To cap off the 2025 season, Bowling Buddies participants and their families experienced a simply unforgettable trip to Bright Nights in Springfield to celebrate the New Year. While the annual outing is always very special, this year it was extra meaningful as members of the Bowling Buddies and their families traveled VIP-style on a chartered luxury bus from Post Road Stages. The tour bus was incredible, and one participant even shared, “It was like being in a rock star tour bus!”
Every seat on the beautiful tour bus offered a fantastic view of the dazzling lights at Bright Nights, making the experience truly magical. The Bowling Buddies group would like to extend a special thank-you to the terrific staff at Post Road Stages for being wonderful to work with and helping make the evening run smoothly. A special shout-out goes to driver Manny, who was fantastic and ensured an enjoyable ride for everyone. It was especially meaningful to be able to include parents and caregivers on this special pre–New Year’s trip, creating lasting memories for all involved.
This special Bright Nights experience was made possible through the generous donations of community members, along with the hard work and dedication of the dancers and supporters from the previous Dancing with the Suffield Stars fundraiser event.
The Suffield Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Suffield, will host the 3rd Annual Dancing Stars of Suffield Spectacular on Saturday, March 28. This popular fundraiser pairs local celebrity dancers with professional instructors from Fred Astaire Studios, culminating in an exciting evening where each pair takes the stage to perform for a panel of judges and a live audience.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Suffield Parks & Recreation’s Bowling Buddies program and our Special Olympics team, supporting inclusive recreational opportunities for individuals of all abilities. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, and community members are encouraged to attend, sponsor a dancer, volunteer or donate in support of this meaningful cause. Tickets and donations are available through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2026-dancing-stars-of-suffield-tickets-1975027603729.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to PeoplesBank, the event’s Title Sponsor, for their generous support.
