Every year, I am astonished by Easter. The barrenness of the Lenten Season gives way to the drama and great sorrow of the last days of Jesus’ life; then, we are given an overwhelming joy: the sure knowledge that no earthly power can conquer the power of love. This year our 10 a.m. service at West Suffield Congregational will feel extra festive as we fill a cross-shaped armature with spring flowers to mark the day. We will also have an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos.
On Saturday, April 11 we are having our super duper, extra-large RUMMAGE SALE!!! We have been gathering items for months for your enjoyment and perusal. It’s a grand, busy day. For a $10 pre-paid entry fee you can pre-shop on Friday evening, April 10 from 5 – 8 p.m.
Our children’s choir has been learning a new Noah song that they will debut on the 12th. Prepare for hilarity, it’s a hoot.
A woman in our congregation recently commented on how important their Sunday mornings have become, because church feels like an oasis for troubled times.
To gather in community, to pray together, to lift our voices in song, and hear the hopeful message of Jesus Christ for one hour a week gives us time to breathe and to ground ourselves for the coming week.
So, join us, give yourself an hour, you won’t regret it.
May there be blessings on your days, Denise.
