The Suffield Community Fund at the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation is pleased to announce that its annual grant application period will open in late spring. Local nonprofits, community groups, and organizations serving Suffield residents are encouraged to apply. The mission of the Suffield Community Fund is simple and powerful: to support projects that enhance the quality of life for everyone in Suffield. In the most recent grant cycle, the Fund awarded over $35,000 to nine local organizations, with individual grants ranging from $1,500 to $7,500. These awards helped support programs that enrich community life, expand access to services and strengthen the fabric of Suffield.
The members of the Suffield Community Fund Committee know there is no shortage of creative ideas and meaningful needs in town—and they want to hear from you. Whether your organization is launching a new initiative or expanding an existing program, you are encouraged to apply for support during this year’s cycle.

In 2019, the Hartford Foundation established the Greater Together Community Funds in each of the 29 towns it serves, including Suffield with an initial investment of $100,000. In 2021, the Foundation awarded an additional $50,000 to each of the community funds. In January, as part of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving’s Centennial year in 2025 and the Fifth anniversary of the Greater Together Community Fund program, the Foundation unveiled a new $100,000 investment in each of its 29 town-specific Community Funds. This includes $50,000 immediately available for grantmaking and $50,000 allocated to endowment.
