Beautiful Flowers From the Hilltop Community Garden

The community garden at Hilltop Farm is once again flourishing. Beautiful flowers dot the landscape and the vegetable plants are producing and, in some cases, exceeding the needs of the gardeners. Cadette Girl Scouts (soon to be eighth graders) from Troop 10994 have been busy tending their garden at A3. In July, they launched an initiative to donate surplus produce from our community garden to Suffield Community Aid.

A blue basket has been placed in front of their garden for gardeners to contribute extra vegetables they would like to donate. The girls collect the produce and deliver it to SCA. A clipboard is available if gardeners would like to leave their name when making a donation.

I am so pleased to see these young gardeners taking action to reduce waste, support our neighbors, and share the abundance of our community garden. Their efforts are a wonderful reminder of the generosity and spirit that make our garden such a special place.
