State Representatives Tami Zawistowski and Jane Garibay welcomed Aces High Team 176 FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Team in the House of Representatives on April 28. The team includes students from East Windsor, Suffield, and Windsor Locks. FIRST was founded in 1989 as a way to inspire students to pursue engineering by engaging in robot development and competitions. The team recently won the New England District Championship and placed fourth at the national FIRST Robotics Competition in Houston.

Students were accompanied by team mentors Peter Davis Sr., Melissa Pascarelli, Ron Horn and William Tice. Follow the team’s activity online at Facebook.com/AcesHigh176.
