Troop 66 recently spent a weekend at Camp Olszewski. This is a fun, wooded camp located on the Metacomet Trail.

Troop 66 Scouts pose for a scenic picture while hiking the Metacomet Trail recently.

On Saturday and Sunday, we hiked the Metacomet Trail. We went on a five-mile hike on Saturday. Halfway through, the patrols made trail meals. The hike then looped back to camp. We had a big campfire on Saturday night.

On Sunday we did a three-mile hike to Sunrise Park and were picked up there by our parents.

It was fun, and we learned the basics of hiking. There were steep hills, and it was difficult to hike up the hills. There were some nice views on the hikes.

Troop 66 is excited to hike in the future, including possibly the Adirondack Trail.
