Print More

This year all 50 states, and almost 20,000 cities, towns and villages commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, and Suffield is no exception!

Suffield Parks & Recreation and the Kent Memorial Library will be hosting anniversary programs all year. The Sibbil Dwight Kent chapter of the DAR will be celebrating both their 130th anniversary and the U.S. semi-quincentennial. The Suffield Historical Society already has several special programs on their calendar. You can also expect Trees for Suffield to plant a red oak tree in celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The Suffield Summer Fair, already renown for an exceptional fireworks show, will be even bigger and better, and we can look forward to live music and a boat parade at Babbs Beach on the 4th of July. We can also expect many of July’s outdoor movies on the green and concerts on the green to have an America theme.

How can you find out all the details? Look for America250 under Things To Do on the town website at www.suffieldct.gov or click on the QR code below to go directly to Suffield’s America250 page. The page will be updated regularly as more organizations finalize their plans. We will also highlight special events in neighboring towns and have included a links to www.CT250.org for information on activities across the state.

Are you aware of an event that we need to make sure gets onto the calendar? Please send us a note at America250@SuffieldCT.gov.
