The Suffield Players are proud to present Holidazed, a funny, heartfelt play by Enfield, Connecticut playwright Bailly Morse, directed by Fahad Ramat. This lively and poignant comedy runs February 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27 and 28 at Mapleton Hall in Suffield.
Produced by The Suffield Players, Holidazed is a warm, laugh-out-loud, and deeply relatable comedy that celebrates family, change and finding yourself when life doesn’t go according to plan.
When Francine (Jennifer Madison) discovers her two college-aged children (Bailly Morse and Ben Cantwell) won’t be coming home for any of the holidays, she decides to host a full year’s worth of celebrations in one frenzied week before they leave for school. What begins as a loving attempt to hold on, quickly erupts into hilarious chaos. Her rebellious octogenarian mother (Barbara Gallow) keeps sneaking out, her ex-husband (Mark O’Donnell) arrives unexpectedly with his much younger girlfriend (Krista Krupa), and Francine develops confusing feelings for her handsome handyman (Chris Torizzo). As the holidays spiral into absurdity, Francine must confront the deeper question beneath the laughter: Who is she when her children are gone and the holidays are over?
Blending sharp comedy with emotional honesty, Holidazed explores family, identity, aging and the bittersweet transitions of parenthood. The Suffield Players are especially excited to showcase the work of local playwright Bailly Morse, whose connection to the region adds a meaningful community dimension to this production.
