Voters Have Several Options for Casting Their Ballot and Registering to Vote
Suffield voters have several convenient options for casting their ballots in the upcoming election. Voters may vote in person on Election Day, vote early in person, or vote by absentee ballot. Residents who are not yet registered also have several opportunities to register to vote.
Ways to Cast Your Ballot
1. Vote in Person on Election Day
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Suffield Middle School.
2. Vote Early in Person
Connecticut’s 14-day Early Voting period will run from October 19 through November 1, including weekends.
Early voting will take place at Suffield Town Hall in the Meeting Room from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours on October 27 and October 29, when polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
3. Vote by Absentee Ballot
Absentee ballots are now available to every voter, with no excuse required.
Voters can visit MyVote.CT.gov/absentee to apply online or download an absentee ballot application in English or Spanish. Applications are also available in person at the Town Clerk’s Office.
Completed absentee ballot applications and ballots may be returned by mail, drop box, or directly to the Town Clerk. All completed ballots must be received no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Ways to Register to Vote
Residents who are eligible to vote but are not yet registered have several options:
1. Online Registration
Register online at VoterRegistration.CT.gov by October 16.
2. Mail-In Registration
Obtain a voter registration application through the Secretary of the State’s online portal at portal.ct.gov/sots/election-services/register-to-vote. Completed applications should be mailed to the Registrars of Voters at: 83 Mountain Road, Suffield, CT
Applications must be postmarked by October 16.
3. In-Person Registration
Voters may register in person at Town Hall during normal office hours, during the special voter registration session on October 16 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., during the Early Voting period, and on Election Day.
Voters are encouraged to review their registration status and make a plan for how they will cast their ballot before Election Day.
