The Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association will celebrate 50 years of service to the community with a 50th Anniversary Gala on November 21 at the Hartford/Windsor Marriott. The event will bring together members of the Association, community partners, local businesses, supporters and friends to recognize five decades of service and the many people who have helped shape Suffield EMS since its founding.
While the Gala will be an opportunity to reflect on the Association’s history, it will also help support its future. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Association’s Capital Investment accounts, which help fund long-term needs such as facilities, equipment, infrastructure and other major investments necessary to maintain a sustainable emergency medical service for the community.
A Silent Auction will be held as part of the evening, and the Association is currently seeking donated items from local businesses and community members. Donations of products, services and gift packages are welcome, with particular interest in unique experiences that may generate strong interest among attendees. Examples might include a stay at a vacation or rental property, a cooking class, recreational or entertainment experiences, private lessons, tastings or other memorable opportunities. In addition to supporting the Association, donated items can also introduce Gala attendees to the many businesses, services and experiences available within the community and surrounding region.
The Association has already received generous support from a number of event sponsors and continues to welcome additional businesses and organizations interested in supporting the anniversary celebration.
A limited number of tickets will also be available to members of the community who would like to attend and take part in the evening. The Gala represents both a celebration of the Association’s first 50 years and an opportunity to help prepare for the decades ahead.
