The Suffield Police Department and CVS pharmacy of Suffield want to extend a very heartfelt thank you to all those who came out on April 29 to turn in unwanted and unused medications.

Suffield Police Officer Terry Antrum (“Officer Terry” as he is known around town) remained busy collecting medications during this time outside CVS. By 2 p.m., Officer Antrum had collected over fifty three pounds of prescriptions which were in turn surrendered to the U.S. Drug Administration (DEA) at the day’s end.

Chief Richard Brown and his leadership team want to recognize Officer Antrum’s efforts on this date as well as the efforts of Suffield Police Officer Mark Sargent who coordinates the department’s annual participation in this national program.

The community of Suffield should feel proud that the town did its part to address the public safety and public health issue related to prescription drug diversion, misuse and abuse.
