The Suffield Polish Heritage Society will hold its monthly meeting (first Wednesday) on Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. in the Ambulance Center, 205 Bridge St. Our special guest will be Bernice (Kierkla) Sobinski who may be the most senior first generation Polish-American living in Suffield today. She has very detailed information about her parents’ emigration from Poland in the early 1900s, as well as many other relatives. Jim Turek will interview Bernice and moderate questions from the audience.
Polish Heritage Society meetings are open to anyone who is interested in learning about, and perpetuating, the Polish culture. If unable to come to weekday meetings, please visit the Polish Heritage Society booth at Suffield on the Green, Sept. 8 and 9, for more information.
