Suffield’s Sibbil Dwight Kent Chapter of The Daughters of The American Revolution is collecting used American flags to ensure that they are disposed of properly. They may be brought to the chapter booth at Suffield on The Green or ask them for information about their proper disposal.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of the DAR is welcome to visit the booth for more information, or for assistance in the process. Members of the DAR are descendents of someone who served in the war of independence. Objectives of the organization are historic preservation, promotion of education and patriotic endeavor emphasizing the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. The DAR motto is “God, Home and Country.”
