Holy Smokes! Kent Memorial Library Was Hot This Summer!

Climatologists say it was the hottest summer on record and the staff at the Kent Memorial Library agree. The Library’s summer reading statistics soared above last year’s figures. 411 adults registered to read each week over the summer, so that they could win a chance to win artfully decorated baskets put together by Lois, Sabine, and Lisa. Not to be outdone, the Children’s Library also recorded higher attendance than last year. 291 kids participated in the Summer Reading Program, and each week around 60 teens also participated. Prizes, baskets and summer programs for the entire library were funded by the Friends of KML and area businesses. Thank you to all who donated and participated. It was a hot summer indeed!
